Classrooms
AK Kids is now serving Kenai-area families at two locations. We offer high quality preschool and child care programs as well as an after school program for school-age children. Below you will learn a bit more about our services. You are always welcome to schedule a tour of either facility and talk with our administrator about your families needs. Call us!
Kinder-Prep Program
Gill Street Location is offering Kinder-prep programs. 8:30-12:30:30 Monday-Thursday. This program focuses on all skills needed for kindergarten readiness. Subjects will include phonics, math, language, writing, science, work habits, and social skills. This program is taught in a beautiful environment with lots of fun centers to explore. This class is a must if kindergarten readiness is important to you.
Preschool Program
Our 'Little Ones' aren't so little anymore! The Preschool Program is centered around exploration, ABC's and 123's. Crafts, songs, stories, and body movement are daily activities enjoyed by our three and 4 year olds in the program. The children will discover emerging talents and practice social development skills. This is a time for children to make bonds with their peers, through direct play and fun conversation.
Infant/Toddler Program
Teachers leading our Infant & Toddler Program are encouraging our little ones to be inquisitive, understand cause and effect and build problem-solving skills. Children in this age group are developing novel ideas and showing interests in play, specific to their emerging personalities.Circle time with song and dance, plenty of time from child-directed learning and flexibility in the daily schedule is a norm for this classroom.
Before & After School Program
In our Before and After School Program, we prepare children a nice breakfast before the bus picks them up from our center and whisks them away to a full day of learning. After school, children are bussed from their schools to our center. Children then have an opportunity to work on homework, log reading time, play games and participate in special 'Big Kid Only' centers. Snack is always served and is nice transition from a long day of school to a mellow evening at home.
